THEATRIX 2022- A TWO-DAY EXTRAVAGANZA OF EMOTIONS AND ENERGY

Theatre is a strong medium of communication. In order to develop dramatic skills and promote teamwork among students, the Senior Wing of Blue Bells Public School organized an Inter-house Theatre Fest- Theatrix 2022 on October 20 and 21, 2022.

The two-day Theatrical Presentation was an endeavour on the part of the students to capture the subtle nuances of feelings, emotions, and expressions through myriad plays by Chekov and Moliere in English and various playwrights in Hindi.

The event commenced with the Diya Lighting Ceremony and an invocation to the Almighty. Madam Arpita Acharya, Officiating Principal, Blue Bells Public School, welcomed everyone to the occasion.

The entire event is conceptualised and executed under the able guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Ma’am declared the event open and encouraged the students to perform with complete conviction, confidence, and energy. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools also graced the occasion. The students were fortunate to be guided and adjudged by renowned experts and theatre artists including Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Ms. Neha Sarkar and Mr. Pratham Sharma. Mr. Anil Sanduja, a well-known and accomplished artist with over 30 years of experience in the fields of music and theatre joined in as the Special Guest. The schools from the CBSE Hubs of Learning initiative were present to witness the grand event. The Guests of Honour from overseas schools also joined in to witness the gala event through the Zoom platform. Ms. Nadezhda and Ms. Helen from Russia appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated them for their efforts.

The hues of emotions that the grand stage witnessed over the two days is the testimony to the talent and skills that Blue Bellians possess. Live actors, presenting their take before a live audience, that too in real-time is no easy feat to accomplish, especially with competitors and judges evaluating even the soft nuances of the acting, the voice modulation, the body language, and the dialogue delivery of the actors. The students, their mentors, and the judges thoroughly lived and enjoyed the power of theatre as a tool of communication, as a means of spreading awareness, as an instrument forcing the blissfully unaware to take stock, as a potent device for empowerment over the two days.

 The judges wholeheartedly appreciated the energy and performance of the students and mentioned that the competition was too close and tough to adjudge. The winners were awarded, congratulated, and appreciated by Madam Soumya Gulati, the Leadership Team, guests, and the members of the jury. They were greeted with thunderous applause by a packed house of students. Kalpana Chawla House bagged the Overall Trophy for Theatrix 2022.

 Madam Preeti Phutela, Senior Wing Leader, extended the Vote of Thanks and acknowledged the hard work of all the team members. The results of the Event are:
